Privacy Policy

What we collect

• The birth details you enter: name, date, place, and optionally time and gender.
• Your email address, if you create an account, and any message you send us.
• If you sign up for chapter emails: your email address, your birth moment (date and time) and the Moon’s position at birth, so we can work out when your chapters change. We keep these until you ask us to remove them.
• Basic technical logs kept by our hosting provider (such as IP address and pages visited).
• Usage statistics we record ourselves, to understand how the site is used: pages visited, steps such as starting the form or saving a reading, and your approximate country. For each reading we also record general chart facts: birth year and country, gender if you gave one, signs and current life chapter. Only if you allow it, we also record your IP address and a random ID stored in your browser, so we can tell new visitors from returning ones. These statistics never include your name, exact birth date, birth time or town. We keep these statistics until you ask us to delete them through the contact form.
• Anonymous visit statistics (pages viewed, country, device type) through Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and never records your name or birth details.

Stored copies

To load faster, your reading is saved in your browser on this device. You can clear it anytime through your browser settings. Our server also briefly keeps chart calculations (birth date, time and place, without your name) for about a day.

How we use it

Only to calculate and show your reading, save readings if you choose to, sign you in, reply to your messages, and keep the site working and secure. We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you for marketing.

Who else sees it

• VedAstro calculates your chart. It receives your birth date, time and location, not your name or email.
• Vercel hosts the site. Supabase stores accounts, saved readings, messages, chapter-email sign-ups and usage statistics. Messages you send us are delivered to us by email.

Reading links contain only a random code, never your details. A link opens only on the device it was made on or, for readings saved to an account, only when signed in to that account.

Your choices

• You can use the site without an account.
• You can allow or refuse IP and browser-ID recording, and change your mind anytime with “Privacy choices” at the bottom of every page.
• You can remove saved readings at any time, and delete your account from the contact page when signed in.
• To see, correct or delete any other data we hold about you, send a request through the contact form.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
